Our Organisation

The objective of Tauranga South Community Patrols is to act as the "eyes and ears" for the police and assist them in preventing crime. We have patrols out three nights a week, usually from 10 pm to 2 am but this can vary. Two or three patrollers are in a marked car and are on the look out for people making trouble but also people in trouble who may need assistance, Patrols can travel up to 100 kms per night.

Current Activities

We also hold different events and recently have started the Tamper Proof Screw event where we put one screw in each of the car registration plates. This means that any thief who want to steal the number plate has to have two different types of screwdrivers on him and it will take longer to remove the plate. Very effective in preventing theft of the plates which are used to do drive offs at petrol stations.
Our next event is at Bethlehem Shopping Centre (Tauranga) on Sat Mar 26 from 9 - 3. Cost is a gold coin donation.
