The once-a-year opportunity to showcase and celebrate local volunteers has hit town with nomination now open for the TrustPower Ashburton District Community Awards. |

Nomination forms for the 2010 TrustPower Community Awards available from the Ashburton District Counci OR from www.trustpower.co.nz/communityawards. The Awards, which are run in conjunction with the Ashburton District Council, are open to all voluntary groups and organisations working for the benefit of the local community. Nominations for the TrustPower Ashburton District Community Awards close on 9 April, with the awards scheduled for presentation on the evening of Monday 17 May. The Awards cover five categories; Art and Culture, Heritage and Environment, Health and Well-being, Sport and Recreation, and Education and Child/Youth Development. Category winners receive $500, runners-up receive $250 and the Supreme Winner will take home $1,500 and an all-expenses paid trip to the TrustPower National Community Awards.
