Funding Information Service - the place to start your funding search

Funding Information Service (FIS) is the prime provider of funding information in New Zealand. We are an independent, not for profit organisation that provides funding information to link fund seekers with funders.

We provide funding information to groups and individuals through three searchable, online databases: FundView, BreakOut and CorporateCitizens.

FundView is a database of funding sources for community groups and organisations. There are currently over 800 schemes listed. These include funding from government, local governments, statutory and philanthropic trusts, gaming trusts and service organisations.

BreakOut is New Zealand's largest collection of information about scholarships and grants available for individuals. There are currently over 3000 schemes listed in BreakOut. Funding schemes on BreakOut are for study (both under graduate and post graduate), professional development, research, arts and culture activities, sports and professional development.

CorporateCitizens holds details of New Zealand businesses that are committed to building relationships with community and voluntary organisations.  It is the first port of call for New Zealand organisations looking for mutually beneficial relationships with businesses offering volunteering, mentoring, sponsorship, gifts in kind, loans, payroll giving, pro bono work and other initiatives.

Using the Databases

The databases are all searchable, online databases. They are user friendly, you just need to answer the questions using the dropdown menu’s and click search and the database will generate a list of the funding schemes that meet your criteria. If you are at a library, you can ask the librarian if you need assistance or call us (04) 471 8913.

Easy-PayEasy-Pay or "Pay as you go" - This is good for community groups, trusts and individuals who may only use the databases occasionally or for short periods of time.

Easy-Pay - This involves purchasing time on the database by the hour. More details and online purchasing is available on our website: www.allaboutfunding.org.nz

Annual Subscription - An annual subscriptionis great for frequent users of the databases, which have the benefit of unlimited searching for the whole year. It also allows people to save a customised search for easy reference.
