The place to start your funding search.
Funding Information Service (FIS) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation collecting and distributing information about funding by way of three separate searchable databases, FundView, CorporateCitizens and BreakOut.
“We are committed to being the prime provider of funding information in New Zealand,” says FIS General Manager Kevin Haunui.
The Funding Information Service is maintained by income from subscriptions and services. We constantly seek feedback from stakeholders to assist us to improve and develop our databases and related services.
OUR PRODUCTS

FundView is the first stop for information about funding sources for community groups and organisations. There are currently over 650 schemes listed.
These include funding from Government, Family Trusts, Gaming Societies, Statutory Trusts, Crown Agencies, Energy Trusts, Local Bodies, Trust Companies, Regional Councils, Foundations, Maori Organisations and Licensing Trusts.

BreakOut is New Zealand's biggest collection of information about awards, scholarships and grants available for individuals. There are currently 2,500 schemes listed including arts, culture, doctoral, fellowship, graduate or postgraduate study, grants/loans, primary or secondary school, professional development/training, research, residencies, sport, recreation and travel.

CorporateCitizens holds details of over 90 New Zealand businesses that are committed to building relationships with community and voluntary organisations. It is the first port of call for New Zealand organisations looking for mutually beneficial relationships with businesses offering volunteering, mentoring, sponsorship, gifts in kind, loans, payroll giving, pro bono work and other initiatives.
ACCESSING THE DATABASES
Free Access
The Funding Information Service is maintained by income from subscriptions and services but we are dedicated to making our products as widely available as possible. To this end, many of our subscribers are Local Authorities and Government Departments who provide the databases to the public for free at libraries and other sites around the country. You can find the nearest free site to you on the locations maps on our website.
Paid Access
We provide two payment plans to best suit the subscribers’ requirements:
Easy-Pay or "Pay as you go" is good for community groups, schools, trusts and individuals. It is quick, easy and simple to use. The main benefits are instant access and the ability to use it from the home or office. Register for a year, which gives you one hour of time, and then pay for more time as you need it. Many Easy-Pay users find they do not need more than one hour per year. Particularly useful for people who use the databases to double-check their own knowledge or who aren't sure just how much they'll need to use them.
Annual Subscription is great for frequent or heavy users of the databases, which have the benefit of unlimited searching for the whole year. Both the Internet edition and the Windows edition (CD) are available on annual subscription.
For pricing or further information on subscriptions see our website or contact Marian Cadman – Customer Relations Manager marian@fis.org.nz
OUR TEAM
The Funding Information Service has a team of 8. This includes two Funder Liaison staff that collect, check and enter the information. They are constantly improving the databases, keeping the details up to date and adding new schemes. To keep the databases as current as possible we also encourage the funders to update their own information using our FunderNet service.

We also have a staff member out on the road.
Rachael Mansfield works as the Sales, Liaison & Communications Advisor, a role that takes her around the country to give presentations, attend funding expos, train users and meet with stakeholders.
Rachael says, “It is great to be providing a service that so clearly benefits the not-for-profit sector. I meet so many different kinds of people, supporting their communities in a huge variety of ways. It is absolutely inspiring.”
