Your Best Tips for Support

Posted on: Tuesday, February 1, 2011

If you were trapped on a deserted island, what would be the one thing you would take with you...

We all know that game, but how does it translate to the volunteer environment?  What is the one thing you just couldn't do without?

hands helping each otherOver the last year we have been redeveloping the TrustPower Community Connect website in an effort to offer the thousands of volunteers working in New Zealand communities an even greater level of support.  We certainly hope we have achieved that!

There are many other services out there that offer support to the voluntary sector – from NGOs to websites, books to blogs.  So share with us your favourites – your greatest support service that you value most.

What or who makes your life as a volunteer that little bit easier?

I am a great believer in the old saying that there is no point reinventing the wheel.  So if you know of a resource or network that you think is invaluable, tell us about it and share it with the Community Connect community.  Maybe your suggestion will get 2011 off to a great start for another voluntary organisation.

Thanks for your comment Rosemary. I think you need a laptop with wireless internet connection on your deserted island - then you could take Community Connect with you! - Pip, TrustPower Community Connect team
